Do Canadians need a visa for Germany?
No visa for stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period (Schengen). The EU's biometric Entry/Exit System (EES) has been fully operational since 10 April 2026 — passports are no longer stamped and your entry records fingerprints + facial image at the border; no action is needed before you travel. The ETIAS travel authorisation (fee revised to €20; free for under-18s and over-70s) is not yet open — it is planned to begin in the last quarter of 2026, so check before you fly and beware of fraudulent application sites.
