Do Canadians need a visa for Sweden?

No visa for tourist stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period (Schengen). The ETIAS travel authorisation is expected to open in late 2026 — applications are not yet being accepted.

The EU's biometric Entry/Exit System (EES) has been fully operational since 10 April 2026 — passports are no longer stamped; your fingerprints, facial image and passport data are recorded digitally at the border. The separate ETIAS travel authorisation (€20 online) is not yet in operation and no applications are being accepted — check before you fly.
